Autonomous, energised, supported and championed; Sheffield’s Razor is certified a Great Place to Work®

Razor is thrilled to announce it has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work® (GPTW) organisation, according to “the global authority on workplace culture”.

Accredited organisations must score 65% or higher in the Trust Index employee survey and carry out a Culture Audit which provides “details about [a] company’s culture, programmes and practices.”

Survey results show that 100% of Razor employees say people here are treated fairly regardless of their age, race and sexual orientation.

100% of their employees say Razor is a physically safe place to work.

As one of the fastest growing digital transformation companies in the North, Razor is on a mission to Level Up and turn Northern England back into the true powerhouse of innovation it has always been. With an office in Sheffield which has recently doubled in size, and a new office opened in Leeds in 2022, Razor is focused on helping to rejuvenate the area’s industry – creating exciting opportunities for the future workforce, right on their doorstep.

Razor put people first. The company believes that everyone matters and everyone may have slightly different needs, whether that’s flexible working, socialising with your colleagues outside of work, development coaching or having the opportunity to share ideas and learnings in a monthly, company wide open forum. Diversity of all kinds is at the heart of their community, as the Trust Index results demonstrate; 98% say people care about each other and most importantly, 100% say people here are treated fairly regardless of their age, race and sexual orientation.

Rosie Frawley, Head of People Operations, Razor: “Everything we do at Razor is about putting people first: our employees, our clients, the tech we work with and the transformations we deliver. It’s about helping humans and tech to work in harmony to deliver the future. To achieve all of this, our ‘people first’ approach is embedded in the Razor workplace as a core value. Whilst it’s easy to say these things, it’s hard to prove them… That’s why we’re so excited to share our Great Place To Work accreditation, the results of which come directly from the ‘people’ themselves. It’s a true testament to the incredibly supportive, flexible and boundary-pushing environment our leaders and employees have nurtured here at Razor.”

Great Place To Work is an exclusive global community representing organisations who put their employees first “no matter who they are or what they do”. Their mission is to give everyone the opportunity to: enjoy going to work; have pride in their roles; feel trusted, valued and encouraged to develop beyond their professional capabilities.

This is something Razor is keenly passionate about; with a current headcount of 56, they’ve had 22 internal promotions in the last 12 months and welcomed 18 new starters. It’s no wonder 96% say they’re proud to tell others ‘I work at Razor’ and 96% are also willing to give extra to get the job done. Employees are happy to give more, because it’s reciprocal. Alongside hybrid working options, enhanced family leave, a mental wellbeing programme, and an enhanced sickness policy, Razor champions mentoring over management and empowering people to be their best.

Jamie Hinton, CEO, Razor: “We’re all about using tech to enhance, transform and progress organisations – we’re all about making and delivering transformational tech for humans, by humans. Without our people, that would be impossible; they make Razor the thriving, pioneering and cutting edge company it is, which is why we put them first. It’s awesome and heartwarming to see that the work we put in to nurture this positive, energetic culture is felt by most and acknowledged in our official certification as a Great Place to Work!”
