Housebuilder Beal receives top industry accolade recognising highest level of customer satisfaction

Lindsay Carter and Kevin Boyce and their children Billy and Ivy love their home at Beal’s Kings Vale development in Kingswood, Hull.

Beal Homes has been awarded a coveted five star rating by the voice of the homebuilding industry.

The Home Builders Federation (HBF) Star Rating Scheme recognises excellence in customer satisfaction, based on independent surveys of new home buyers in England and Wales.

East Yorkshire-based Beal is one of only four housebuilders based in Yorkshire with a five star rating and the only family-owned company in the county to receive the top accolade.

Each year, the HBF awards participating members a Star Rating of between one and five based on homeowners’ feedback collected in the National New Homes Survey carried out by the National House-Building Council (NHBC), the UK’s leading provider of warranty and insurance for new homes.

All buyers of new homes are asked to complete two NHBC questionnaires – the first within eight weeks of completion of their purchase and then about nine months later – which together feed into the NHBC National New Homes Survey. The results are shared with housebuilders and the wider industry to continually drive up standards in all aspects of the building and marketing of new homes.

Under the scheme, buyers are asked to rate the quality of their new home and service provided by the housebuilder from reservation of the plot through to after completion.

The Beal five star rating is based on responses over the past year from the award-winning housebuilder’s customers, including to questions on build quality, the service they received, how likely they are to recommend Beal to a friend, and more.

It is the first time the housebuilder has been awarded the prestigious accolade in the scheme, which is firmly established as the number one indicator of industry performance.

Beal Chief Executive Richard Beal said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive this recognition, which is based on extremely positive responses from our customers.

“The feedback is gathered from our new homebuyers entirely independently, so it is especially pleasing that buyers’ views are so complimentary. These customers’ experiences justify their decision to buy Beal and provide even more confidence and reassurance to other house hunters that they will be in good hands with us.

“The quality of service we provide to customers across every aspect of the homebuying experience is our number one priority, so we place great value on this industry accolade.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our buyers and particularly all of those who have expressed how positive they are about the experience of becoming a Beal homeowner.”

Established more than 50 years ago, Beal has grown to become the leading independent housebuilder operating in Hull, East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, delivering more than 75 high-quality developments across the region.

Beal prides itself on offering buyers the unique opportunity to completely personalise the layout and features of their new home, working with the housebuilder’s design experts to ensure it suits their lifestyle and tastes perfectly.

The HBF five star rating reflects consistently excellent feedback from Beal buyers.

Lindsay Carter and Kevin Boyce moved into their four bedroom home at Beal’s Kings Vale development in Kingswood in February 2020, and said they love living there with children Billy, 11, and Ivy, seven.

Lindsay said: “Beal are a cut above the rest in terms of house quality, the finishing touches and communication.

“They kept us updated all the time, they were so friendly and I felt like we knew them by the end of the process. We can’t fault anything – it’s the complete package.”

Beal buyer Deborah Morgan, a librarian, and her husband Professor Trevor Burnard, Director of the Wilberforce Institute in Hull, moved into their home in Hull’s Fruit Market urban village four months ago and said their experience was second to none.

She said: “The service is top notch and every person we’ve dealt with has been friendly, helpful and professional.

“In terms of quality craftsmanship, customer care, diversity of the area and the community feel, I would absolutely recommend Beal Homes and living in the Fruit Market.”

Sheila Hodder, 87, moved into her two bedroom bungalow at Beal’s Bishop’s Green development in Welton, Lincolnshire, in January.

She said: “I don’t know what other housebuilders are like these days, but they would have to go a long way to beat the Beal experience.

“I’ve been treated like a VIP by Beal from the very beginning and they have gone above and beyond my expectations. They have looked at everything and meet the highest quality standards.”
