One of the region’s largest independent flooring suppliers is opening new premises as part of ongoing expansion plans.

Simon Thomas and Dave Marsden, co-directors of Greenholme Carpets and Flooring in Otley and Wharfedale Carpets and Flooring in Yeadon, have opened a third operation in Guiseley.

Trading as Elite Floor Coverings, the 10,000 sq. ft. premises occupies a former coach works at Low Mills near Westside Retail Park. The company has also brought in flooring specialists Dom Bass and Kevin Close as partners; George Eley complete the team.

Combining an extensive showroom and warehouse facility, Elite will supply a full range of carpet and flooring products to domestic, contract and commercial customers across Yorkshire. With the addition of the Guiseley premises, the carpet retail group will offer budget to high end flooring solutions across all three showrooms.

Mr Thomas, who heads up the sales function, attributes the company’s success to offering value for money at all price points, expert fitting and savvy purchasing made possible by the firm’s extensive warehousing facilities.

“The new showroom and warehouse provides the ideal facility for us to continue to grow and expand, meeting the needs of both our long established client base and the growing demands of the region’s expanding new-build housing sector” he commented.

Mr Thomas, who is a trustee and supporter of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, is marking the opening of the new showroom with a charity auction on 27th April, when he will auction room-sized carpet remnants, laminates and rugs. All proceeds will go to the Skipton-based charity which provides free respite holidays to children who are underprivileged, disadvantaged, disabled, have life-limiting conditions, or who have experienced poverty, trauma or abuse.
