Gemma McGeough, partner and patent attorney at European intellectual property firm, Withers & Rogers said: “I am extremely grateful to have been recognised for my achievements in helping to raise understanding of the importance of intellectual property across industry sectors. Businesses with a well-managed IP portfolio are more likely to succeed in securing funding for growth and this can help to create jobs and boost the economy.

“It is always satisfying when your hard work is recognised, and I hope that my success will encourage other young women with science or engineering degrees to consider pursuing a career in IP.”
