Lovell Partnerships, a leading name in the construction and development industry, has been honoured with the prestigious Charitable Advocate of the Year Award at this year’s Show Home Awards.

This recognition celebrates the outstanding commitment to charity through its impactful partnership with Candlelighters, a local charity dedicated to supporting families coping with childhood cancer.

The Show Home Awards, an esteemed event within the housing sector, spotlights excellence in various categories, including innovation, design, and community engagement.

At the heart of the success is its unwavering support for Candlelighters. During the two years, Lovell fundraised for the charity, raising over £16,000 to help fund the vital services that the charity provides in the fight against childhood cancer.

The home developer partnered with Candlelighters as their last charity partner after one of their employees received support from the charity when their child was previously diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

Judges honoured Lovell, explaining that charitable advocacy is embedded into the company’s DNA and recognising the difference the fundraising will make to those who need it.

Robert Adams, Regional Managing Director at Lovell, explained;
“We were delighted to help this magnificent cause, which is so close to the heart of Lovell. It is an absolute pleasure to be acknowledged for these efforts, this award is a testament to the dedication of our team and the impact we can achieve when we come together to support a meaningful cause.”

Iain Blackwood Hobbs, Partnerships Executive at Candlelighters, added:

“This award is a testament to the great work and support Lovell provided to Candlelighters in 2022 and 2023. From hosting fundraising events such as golf days and football tournaments to walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks and show home furniture sales, it has been great to see them get involved in so much for Candlelighters. The amount they raised could send 16 families on a fully-funded respite holiday to get some much-needed escapism and to have the opportunity to make precious memories together as a family. All of the money raised allows us to continue providing emotional, practical, and financial support to families in Yorkshire affected by childhood cancer.

The Eastern region has been a great charity partner, and we hope to work with them again soon. Congratulations to them on winning this award!”
