‘Run With It’ Charity Expands with New Centre at Sewell Group Craven Park

Children from Oldfleet Primary School enjoy a 'Run With It' session in Hull KR's dressing room

A charity focusing on raising the levels of literacy and numeracy across Hull and East Yorkshire has launched its fourth education centre at Sewell Group Craven Park, the home of Hull Kingston Rovers.

Run With It takes children out of the classroom to provide bespoke lessons in more informal environments, raising their self-esteem and confidence and developing their aspirations and employability skills for the future. Each child receives up to two hours of help every week for a ten-to-twelve-week period.

Lisa Dawson, Director of Run With It, took the opportunity to announce the new site when she spoke at The Business Day at Bridlington Spa about the importance of businesses partnering with local charities to grow the potential of our future generations. She said:

“We are so excited to open our fourth centre at Sewell Group Craven Park and we honestly couldn’t do what we do without the support of businesses.

“We are also teaching key work and life skills – being on time, having the confidence to speak to people, even getting a good night’s sleep and look after themselves. It’s all about developing results, perseverance and self-esteem.

“Our approach is a proven method, making learning fun as well as transforming their understanding. All of the children go away feeling inspired and motivated and understand why they are learning English and Maths at school.”

Run With It’s new Sewell Group Craven Park centre is in addition to three other education centres at Hull’s MKM stadium, Bridlington Town Football Club and the Flemingate shopping centre in Beverley.
