A relaxation retreat with a difference is set to take place in a serene North Yorkshire setting this September as six entrepreneurs dedicated to health and wellbeing join forces to offer a short break, to help you escape the stresses of everyday life. The retreat is sure to leave guests feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to take better care of their wellbeing, long after the experience has ended – a perfect way to enter the autumn/winter months.

The retreat will include several wellness workshops and holistic therapies, including an essential oils workshop, daily yoga classes, a mindfulness forest bathing experience, a reiki drum shower, workshops on nutrition, stress resilience and mindful eating, and a sound bath experience.

On this all-inclusive relaxation experience, guests will be served delicious and nutritious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the duration of their stay – all prepared by one of Yorkshire’s most sought after private chefs, Michaela Hanna, founder of With M. There will also be an option to join cooking demonstrations with Michaela throughout the break – with particular focus on creating flavoursome dishes with ease.

The experts providing the relaxation workshops and therapies will be; Carrie Prideaux owner of Hope Yoga Yorkshire, Izzy Anderson – wellness coach and essential oil professional who’s known on social media as The Mindful Fox, Sudeshna Sarkar – Sound Meditation Practioner and founder of Sound of the Times, Georgina Townsend – registered nutritionist and owner of NuMindSet Nutrition and finally, Faith Douglas – founder of Forest Bathing UK who is also a Usui Reiki Master Practitioner and author of The Nature Remedy.

Georgina Townsend, founder of NuMindSet Nutrition sharing her thoughts on the retreat added: “I love Michaela’s food and her contagious passion for what she does. When it comes to nutrition and nourishment for our bodies, I feel our values are aligned. I’ll be providing workshops on improving resilience to stress through nutritious and mindful eating. I usually find [that] people who participate in my workshops find it quite an eye-opening experience and go away with simple and practical ways to make diet changes that benefit them long-term”.

Founder of Hope Yoga Yorkshire, Carrie Prideaux added: “I’m passionate about using Yoga as a tool to improve physical and mental health. I believe that everyone is unique and well-being is about taking a holistic view of the whole picture and finding steps to incorporate a little self-care into everyday life. This retreat offers something for everyone so I jumped at the chance to be involved.

“The retreat has every sense covered – it will be a feast for the eyes, ears, nose, mouth and whole body leaving you feeling nourished in every way possible. I’m delighted [that] my classes will be taking place at the retreat, as Yoga is such a joyful way to find a connection to yourself and others, to gain a sense of balance and release tensions that build up. I can also personally vouch for the incredible dishes guests will be served by Michaela too.”

Sudeshna Sarkar founder of Sound of The Times added: “Michaela has curated a wonderful getaway, combining food, mindfulness and wellbeing, so when I was asked to deliver a Sound Bath it felt like it would slot in perfectly for guests to experience a new level of relaxation and a deeper connection to self.”

During the retreat, Michaela will also be offering peaceful guided trail walks with spectacular views of the Yorkshire Dales, lakes and ancient woodlands.

Michaela Hanna, host of the retreat and founder of experiences With M explains: “I’m so excited to be joining with such experienced practitioners to offer this retreat, offering guests the opportunity to invest in some ‘you time’ for a few days and immerse themselves in a range of inspiring workshops and holistic therapies.

“I will be preparing some delicious vegetarian feasts for guests that are full of flavour and nutrients. Cooking demonstrations will be offered with a focus on herbs and spices and adding flavour to vegetables, pulses and legumes – showing simple tricks to create healthy, mouth-wateringly tasty meals. There will always be something available to snack on in the kitchen if guests find themselves peckish! We’ll be offering wines from Ripon-based supplier Yorkshire Vintners and local beers if preferred – as a host I believe guests should have what they want and will enjoy, so there won’t be a feeling of restriction. This experience is about having some space for yourself, learning different ways to relax and care for your wellbeing, and having a holiday – that is my kind of holistic approach to relaxation.”

The ‘Relaxation and Feasting’ retreat is set to go ahead on Monday 26 September until Friday 30 September 2022, at a charming country house near the peaceful village of Grantley, near Ripon. Find out more here: www.withm.co.uk/relaxation-retreat
