STEPS Rehabilitation, a pioneering neurological and complex trauma rehabilitation facility based in Sheffield, is delighted to share its recent award wins at two business award ceremonies, marking exceptional recognition of its outstanding contributions and innovative approaches to neurological rehabilitation.
At the unLTD Business Awards 2023, held at the Peddlers Warehouse in Sheffield, STEPS Rehabilitation was awarded ‘Medium Sized Business of the Year.’ In its inaugural year, the unLTD Business Awards is dedicated to celebrating the best start-ups, SMEs, and entrepreneurs in the region and acknowledged STEPS Rehabilitation’s significant impact in providing intensive rehabilitation for individuals following complex trauma injuries. The facility’s purpose-built design includes 22 ensuite bedrooms, one independent living apartment, skills kitchen, café, music room, garden room, therapy gyms and a hydrotherapy pool and has set new benchmarks in neurological rehabilitation, enabling clients access to world-leading robotic and virtual reality technology.

STEPS Rehabilitation further strengthened its status as an industry pioneer by receiving the esteemed ‘North East, Yorkshire, and Humber Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year 2023’ award at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. The ‘Grammy’s of Entrepreneurship’ awards celebrates the stories of exceptional entrepreneurs, with the ‘Family Business Entrepreneur of the Year’ category recognising the collective efforts of family members working together to build and operate a business, combining shared values, heritage, and expertise that form a resilient foundation for success.
Co-founded and managed by sisters Jules Shiel-Boulger and Toria Chan, in collaboration with their father, Ray Boulger, STEPS Rehabilitation has helped over 300 individuals rebuild their lives and continually raises the bar in neurological rehabilitation. Their pioneering approach combines traditional therapies with state-of-the-art technology and expert medical care and has earned them national recognition as a centre of excellence.
