YDBC appoints surveyor

Building Control Approved Inspector, YDBC Ltd, has expanded its Leeds-based consultancy team with the appointment of Simon Berry as Assistant Building Surveyor.

With a Masters Degree in Construction Project Management and ten years’ experience in working in construction-related sectors, Simon brings a wealth of expertise and industry knowledge to the position. Prior to joining YDBC, Simon was Assistant Building Control Surveyor at an environmental sustainability and compliance services provider, where he worked across a broad range of building performance assessments, from energy to air testing. He will now be working with YDBC’s team of surveyors at the company’s head office in Horsforth, providing Building Control services for new build and refurbishment developments of all sizes in domestic and commercial sectors.

Simon Berry said:

“I’m excited to become part of a dynamic and growing company at YDBC. Working in tandem with our other office in Leyburn, the Leeds-based team has strengthened YDBC’s presence. In recent years, homeowners have become increasingly aware of the availability of Approved Inspectors as an alternative to Local Authority Building Control in navigating compliance within the planning and application process. That growing awareness has enabled YDBC to substantially increase business in the domestic market over the past few years.”

Katherine Naisbitt, Director at YDBC, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Simon to the team at our office in Leeds. He has an outstanding track record which demonstrates versatility, creativity, strong analytical skills and an ability to drive a positive impact on business. Simon will support our team to ensure that Building Control projects are managed efficiently and delivered on time to the highest quality.”

YDBC is part of the C80 Group and operates as a sister company with the Group’s other building consultancies, including Leeds-based C80 Solutions and Birmingham-based Stewarts. Their complementary capabilities enable C80 Group to offer a comprehensive range of expertise encompassing energy assessment, Building Compliance, consultancy, testing, and building services engineering.
