International specialist business consultancy, ConnectChina, is delighted to announce that its client, Lightsong Media Group’s CEO and world-renowned Composer, Conductor and Producer, Tolga Kashif, has been invited to perform his composition, The Queen Symphony a Symphonic work composed originally for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the UK released by EMI Classics, in the Yunnan Province as well as other music collaboration projects in the Province.

The invitation comes as a direct result of a recent visit to South West China which Tolga attended, hosted by ConnectChina, as the consultancy looks to attract new investment and promote the opportunities in the Yunnan Province as part of their collaboration with the Yunnan Investment Bureau.

Tolga Kashif is widely recognised as one of the most diversely talented musicians of his generation. His successes famously comprise the Production and Musical arrangement of the BBC’s Children In Need Platinum-selling single, which features global artists such as David Bowie, Elton John and The BBC Symphony Orchestra. “Perfect Day” raised £2,125,000 for the UK Charity. Tolga is also well known for his numerous compositions and productions for the worlds major recording labels: projects include his critically acclaimed CD of Richard Strauss tone poems with the Philharmonia Orchestra, which he also conducted and the production of three Albums with Lesley Garrett including “The Singer” in 2002 and orchestrating all of the songs on her album “When I Fall in Love” in 2007.

A veteran composer, he has been active in the classical music scene since the late 1980’s. He also co-wrote the soundtrack for the TV series “Where the Heart is”, “Q.E.D” and the BBC’s documentary series about the Gulf War: “Fighting the War”. His international projects include the feature films “The Criminal” (2000) and “The Garden of the Prophet” (2000).

Commenting on the invitation to perform, Tolga Kashif said: “I’m delighted to have been asked to perform The Queen Symphony in Yunnan. I have performed the work in many of the world’s leading concert halls with their orchestras and I feel honoured at the prospect of performing the China debut concert in Yunnan. This opportunity would not have arisen without the efforts of ConnectChina and the visit they arranged, so I’m very grateful to them and look forward to performing in Yunnan Province.”

ConnectChina’s Managing Director, Joanna Lavan, said: “The invitation recognises the immense talent that Tolga contributes to music. We’re very proud to have been able to host him on our visit to the Yunnan Province and realise new opportunities and relationships in the Chinese market.”
