Bradford ‘reservoir with a view’ goes up for auction

Land at Idle Hill Reservoir near Bradford is up for auction with Pugh

Bradford’s Idle Hill Reservoir, which has views of the Aire Valley and the moors beyond, is to be put up for auction later this month with planning consent for the demolition of the on-site reservoir and construction of a large five-bedroom home.

Located near the village of Wrose and three miles north of Bradford city centre, the circular 3.7 acre plot of land is surrounded by open fields to the north and east and residential housing to the south and west. Accessed via a private road which is included in the sale, Idle Hill Reservoir will appear in auction house Pugh’s online property auction on 21 March with a guide price of £275,000.

Will Thompson, associate director at auction house Pugh, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for the right property developer to create a unique ‘grand design’ home or investigate the possibility of achieving planning for a larger number of dwellings on the land.

“Idle Hill Reservoir is a fantastic location which has easy access to the city whilst benefitting from spectacular views and the amenities of Wrose village on the doorstep. Since Bradford was named UK City of Culture 2025, there’s a new buzz around the city and this is a great area to invest.”

Bidding on Idle Hill Reservoir near Bradford, and the other lots in Pugh’s online property auction, opens on 21 March and closes the following day. To view the full catalogue, go to www.pugh-auctions.com
